Platform modernisation

We rescue or replace a platform that has fallen behind, without stopping the business and without you needing to understand technology to know it is going well. Fixed scope, fixed price and phased delivery with the old product running until the last day.

Who it is for

Companies of 10 to 60 people with a digital product that works, makes money and causes trouble: every change takes weeks, infrastructure costs more every year, and the team or vendor that built it is gone or has nothing more to give.

It is not for starting a product that does not exist from scratch: that is product development. Nor is it for fixing one specific module, which belongs in fractional CTO work or a small development project.

How we work

First, the audit

Two weeks inside the current platform. Out comes a report with the problems ranked by what they cost and the scope of the replacement: what is kept, what is rewritten, what is switched off.

Then, in phases

The new platform is built alongside the old one and absorbs functions one at a time. Every phase puts something in production that can be used and measured. There is no cut-over day when everything changes.

Small team

One point of contact, a small team, artificial intelligence on whatever can be tested automatically and people on whatever cannot. Nothing goes into production without a test that proves it.

Delivery and handover

Code in your repositories from day one, documentation of what was decided and why, and a handover session with whoever will maintain it. You can carry on without us.

Scope

What it does not include is here, not in the small print.

What it includes

  • Diagnosis of the current platform and a phased replacement plan
  • New architecture and data model, with migration of the existing data
  • Development and deployment with the old product running until cut-over
  • Automated tests on what can be tested; manual review of what cannot
  • Documentation of decisions and handover to the team that will maintain it
  • Bug fixing for 30 days after each delivery

What it does not include

  • Brand design or content: copy, images, video
  • Scope changes mid-project. They are quoted separately, in writing, before being done
  • Hosting, licences and third-party services. They are in the client's name and paid by the client
  • Maintenance afterwards. It is contracted as fractional CTO work or as a block of hours
  • End-user training
  • Guarantees on third-party systems the platform depends on

Terms

Scope
Fixed in writing from the audit. The price is for that scope; what is not in it is not in the price.
Payment
In milestones tied to deliveries into production, not to dates. Part up front and the rest on closing each phase.
Ownership
Code, accounts and data in the client's repositories and services from day one. If the project ends early, you keep what was done.
Prior audit
The €1,800 is deducted in full from the project's first invoice. If you take the report and build with someone else, you owe nothing more.
Team
One person responsible and a single point of contact, with the team the scope calls for. Who works on what is stated before starting.

Indicative price

The fixed price comes from the scope, but you can know the order of magnitude before we talk. The calculator asks four questions and gives a range and a duration.

Worked example: migrating a web platform with existing code to pick up, no rush.

Calculate mine
Range €48,500 to €71,500 Duration 15 weeks Indicative. The actual price is set after the scope.
